Inverting the Sabbath
Jesus taught in parables and pictures and illustrations. Why? Because human behavior begins with mind imaged visualization. When we see a story or look at a metaphor we get a mind image. All human behavior, good or evil begins with a mind image, or an imagination.
Hence Jesus taught pictographic. Story telling; therefore, is at the crux of superior communication. When we can speak in story or metaphor we have the right idea of how to communicate effectively.
While keeping a day for the Sabbath is not the essence of the Sabbath rest, it certainly is not wrong to keep a day, because it serves as a metaphor that reminds, as to the true meaning and access we have to the true Sabbath. So for all those folks who may be thinking that I am touting them off from attending services and meeting on their set day of worship, that is not my purpose. Not so! (Even scientific studies have proven that taking a day of rest is essential for body and mind to restore and recharge your batteries. But remember that the physical body, your physical body, is part of the shadow.
But tragically, there have been those that have fought wars against one another in the name of the proper and appropriate day of the Sabbath, attempting to defend their doctrine of the Sabbath, but God, who is Love, does not support nor approve of those wars and He, neither is He their author; whether they be wars that actually shed blood or wars of words. It is very clear that we are not to judge one another or to stand aloof as though we have The correct day to observe the Sabbath.
“therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath Day, things which are a mere shadow of what is to come….but the substance belongs to Christ” Col. 2:16-17
Those that harp on the physical Sabbath do not realize that it is of the shadow world and not the spiritual. So go, and be free to locations of worship, but remember unless you touch the substance which is Christ you merely dwell in the shadow, which the scripture points out is “a shadow of things to come.”
Remember the outer world is the shadow world and the Kingdom of Heaven is within.
So then, due to the misrenderings of the Bible, by many translations, and over the course of thousands of years, a mind picture of the Sabbath has evolved that has altered the focus from inside out.
By and large the prevailing concept of the mind picture from the watered down and diluted translations has affected the appropriate mind picture on to the outer shadow world and thus the behavior follows suit. Take the test…when the word Sabbath is mentioned…what do you think? If you honest, its going to your place or at lest a place of worship on a specific day.
This is clearly a mind image that has been formed by the misinterpretations of the bible, doctrines of men, and the confusion that comes from the shadow world.
