Formatting Your Mind (Part 2)

One of the great spin-offs coming from the advent of computer technology and from the computer age itself is using the whole phenomena as a metaphor which serves as an example in how to explain our own mental processing. 

Recently, I had to change my own editing system, so that it would interface with companies which do my computer graphic designs. 

The companies that design my computer graphics, which are in Van Cover British Colombia, exclusively use PCs.  The companies in my neck of the woods use Apple computers.  But the problem was that Apple computers did not play editing software specific to PCs.  Consequently, in order to be compatible with those companies in B.C. I had to make a change

So, I had to sell off my Apple computer and get a new PC.  The editing system, or soft ware, I had to jettison along with my apple computer was called Final Cut Pro.  My new PC computer required that I obtain new software called Premier. 

This experience of needing to make a change, metaphorically speaking, is a great example of why most people cannot move into higher revelations of God. They simply do not have the correct hardware that will allow for playing the correct software.

That is because their existing human mind (hard ware) has been formatted according to earth time considerations and constructions.  As a result all mental processing is based on a time space continuum;  conceptualizations are earth bound.  Hence, the results of the context for computing, produces linear literal time bound calculations, interpretations, and categories.

Until one realizes that they have inadequate equipment which cannot process spiritual realities they unknowingly, are comparing apples (pun intended) to oranges.  There must come a complete re-hauling of the hard ware to process the new software.  You cannot process the mind of Christ with the natural human mind.  There must be a conversion.  Jesus said it this way. You cannot  put new patch on an old garment.

But conversion is not enough to offset the old habits and former software, therefore, while admonished to set the mind on the things above into the celestial realm and a discarding of the former ways (old hardware) and the willful request for the mind of Christ there is more ahead to be accomplished. 

After once receiving this initial down payment of the mind of Christ through impartation of the Holy Spirit, we must still continually put on and make advances by using the access of the Spirit to the Mind of Christ.

For most people that have at least taken this first step,  by requesting the new hardware, the abiding problem is the temptation to use the old hard ware. Inadvertently we default to the old hardware.   It doesn’t go away just because you have received a new hard ware. So the setting of oneself on the things above requires a purposeful and willful daily surrender to the renewal of ones mind.

This process is a lifelong discipline and must become a habit.  If the habit of relying and defaulting to the “lower self” computer is prolonged it becomes increasingly more difficult to correct to the higher and newer celestial computer.

It takes diligence and a strident devotion in putting on the Mind of Christ.
